Aqiqa

Our strength lies in your commitment!
With CAD 85 per animal, we can arrange your Aqiqa and distribute the meat to families in need.

Aqiqa

For a baby boy, the sacrifice of two animals is prescribed, while for a baby girl, only one is required. Aqiqa is a Sunnah practice (recommended) according to many scholars, though some consider it obligatory, as described in the hadith: “Every child is tied to his Aqiqa.” This rite, which dates back to the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad, is celebrated as a sign of gratitude for the birth of the child.

Wisdom of Aqiqa:

  • Expressing gratitude to Allah for the gift of a child.
  • Symbolically releasing the child, akin to the liberation of Ishmael with the sacrificial animal.
  • Allowing the newborn to intercede for their parents on the Day of Judgment.
  • Sharing the joy of the birth through the distribution of meat.

If you are unable to perform the sacrifice personally, you can appoint someone to do it on your behalf. We are happy to accept donations to carry out Aqiqa in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in East Africa. Each Aqiqa becomes a celebration for the locals, as few can afford meat.

With 85 $, we can organize Aqiqa for you in Malawi and distribute the meat to those in need.

May Allah accept your good deeds and bless your children. Ameen.

With your donation, we can immediately support initiatives like these.
